Position Purpose:
Provides office support services in the mail room.
Essential Functions
- Unload freight manually and by using proper equipment as it is received from vendors.
- Verify the accuracy and condition of the delivery and input a receiving report into the computer.
- Maintain and update computerized inventory records as materials are received, issued, and when descriptions, locations and manufacturer information changes.
- Maintain warehouse working and storage areas to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Open and process all headquarters mail while following stringent safety procedures.
- Maintain and operate all mail center equipment, including postage machines, scanners and related software.
- Make daily mail runs to TSM Menoken as well as picking up supplies/groceries for cafeteria.
- This position also backs up the reprographics area as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in business or related; or
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED); and 2 years of office and customer service-related experience.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of business principles and office procedures.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Able to work in a close environment.
- Able to work alone.
- Able to work under stress, develop plans, and accomplish goals; prioritize workloads to meet deadlines, present information to others, analyze data and research ways to complete assignments.
- Proficient with a PC and Microsoft Office.
- Resume required.
Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands:
This position requires continuous standing, walking, stooping/bending, and reaching below shoulder level, using foot controls and frequently lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. This position requires occasional sitting; climbing stairs; kneeling and crawling; lifting at shoulder level and reaching above shoulder level; pushing and pulling up to 300 pounds; using keyboard/computer; using tools and turning clamps; operating a forklift, hoists and carts. This position requires finger dexterity; good vision, speaking, and hearing. The incumbent works in a general office environment, works with moving machine parts, and moves large quantities of paper supplies. Occasionally, this position may be exposed to dirt/dust, fumes, chemicals, and noise. The incumbent may be subjected to poor ventilation; occasionally works with extremely hot equipment parts; subjected to machine vibrations, and electrical machinery.
