Sensational Sundays program, "Designing the North Dakota Governor’s Residence: Finding Common Ground Between Public and Private Life.”
The public is invited to the free Sensational Sundays program, "Designing the North Dakota Governor’s Residence: Finding Common Ground Between Public and Private Life,” at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck. Chris Hawley, architect for the new governor’s residence in Bismarck, will outline the process, provide insight into the creative architectural design, and share what it means to work on a project designed by committee, but lived in by a family. Hawley, principal architect of Chris Hawley Architects of Fargo, completed his bachelor's degrees in both architecture and environment design at North Dakota State University. He was recognized as Design & Living Magazine’s People’s Choice winner for “Best Residential Architect” in 2015, 2016, and 2017 and was named to the North Dakota Capitol Grounds Planning Commission. This program is part of the State Historical Society of North Dakota’s Sensational Sundays program, free programs sponsored by the State Historical Society.
